History & Inspiration
Pakistan has one of the highest numbers of out-of-school children in the world, with over 26 million between the ages of 5 and 16 unable to access education. Among them, girls are disproportionately affected, held back by cultural, financial, and infrastructural barriers. I witnessed this heartbreaking reality firsthand when a young shepherd girl, barefoot and full of hope, looked up at me and asked, “Can I get a chance to get an education?” Her words were more than a question—they were a reflection of the struggles faced by millions of children yearning to learn but bound by circumstances beyond their control. In rural areas, where poverty and the lack of schools force children into labor instead of classrooms, the dream of education remains distant for many. Despite government and nonprofit efforts to improve literacy, challenges persist in ensuring quality, free, and inclusive education for all. That girl’s simple yet profound question became the catalyst for change, driving the vision of our school—to ensure that when a child asks for a chance to learn, the answer is always “Yes, you can.”
